Membership is open to active and retired federal workers and their spouses.  Our chapter holds regular meetings, creates social contacts, provides help in dealing with the federal bureaucracy, advocates for the NARFE national organization issues, and provides information on NARFE activities and concerns.

PA LEGISLATIVE NEWS

     The following was sent out by the PA Federation President. There is a House Bill introduced this past summer and referred to theCommittee on Finance on June 3, 2009. A copy of HB 1598 will be found below. The idea is to contact your PA State Repersenative to encourage passage of this bill. If it comes out of committee and voted upon it will then go to the Senate and we will have to contact our PA State Senator  to encourage passage. These things take time and continued watching on our part.  This means that only 50%of annunities would count in calculating Property Tax and Rentors Rebates just the same as Social Security. This may be worthwhile getting interested in.

NEW YEAR SOME OF THE OLD ISSUES

     We have dodged the bullet on most of the issues from last BUT they won't go away.Health care legislation HAS NOT gone away. The Fast Track Commission amendment was voted down BUT it's not dead. There fore read on and act accorfingly as you see fit. Just remember that it is your annuity check each month and your FEHBP that is at risk.
